Joel Govea has been an active member of the Santa Clarita soccer community for the past 20 years, coaching both recreational and competitive soccer, the last 12 at the club level.
His credits also include directing one of the most successful Child Developoment Soccer programs in the Santa Clarita Valley, working with children of all ages, helping to develop basic to advanced soccer skills and movements.
Joel's success as a teacher is defined by his ability to provide a positive environment in which players can express their unique talents and abilities on the field.
His focus is on incorporating confidence and competence training into each session, thus supporting the players willingness to express their unique talents in game situations.
Joel believes athletes tend to play better in environments that are predictably safe and secure, and that the more freedom a player is allowed in training, the more their expression of confindence and competence in decision making situations will lead to success on the field.
